Narcotic street teams arrest drug traffickers in Ventura County

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. - Ventura County Sheriff's West County Narcotic Street Team arrested two people in connection with drug trafficking in Ventura County on Thursday. 

Detectives from the Sheriff's West County Narcotic Street Team arrested Ernesto Sanchez, 35, of Oxnard and Claudia Alejandre, 26, of Oxnard. 

With assistance from Ventura County Combined Agency Team, they were able to conclude a multi-month long narcotic investigation into Sanchez and Alejandre by serving search warrants at their residences and arresting them for numerous narcotic violations. 

In the investigation, the West County Street Team investigators received information that Sanchez was selling large quantities of heroin, methamphetamine and cocaine to residents of Ventura County. 

Detectives acted on the information given and deployed a variety of investigative techniques to expose Sanchez's drug trafficking activities. 

Detective also developed evidence that Alejandre was assisting Sanchez with his illegal activities. 

On Thursday morning, detectives served search warrants on the 5300 block of South J Street in Oxnard as well as the 700 block of Polaris Way in Port Hueneme. During the search warrant executions, officials found and seized approximately 325 grams of heroin, 141 grams of cocaine and 54 grams of methamphetamine.

They also found paraphernalia consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics. 

Both Sanchez and Alejandre were booked at the Ventura County Mail Jail for numerous narcotic violations. 

Their bail was set at $300,000 for both of them. 

They are both scheduled to appear in Courtroom 13 at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. 

The West County Street Team is comprised of Narcotic detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office, the Oxnard Police Department and the Port Hueneme Police Department.
