New Dos Pueblos High School stadium officially open

The stadium renovation project at Dos Pueblos High School in Goleta is finally complete.

The $2.1 million project was more than a decade in the making.

The funds came from local athletic boosters and Measure I funds.

The field is named after Scott O’Leary, a longtime athletic director.

“This stadium is a tribute to him. Dos Pueblos High School is a community gem and now we have our crown jewel,” said Principal Bill Woodard.

Senior Sunny Graybill didn’t get to play his final football season on the new state-of-the-art field because it was under construction for seven months, but he’s OK with it.

“It’s really amazing. It’s really beautiful,” Graybill said. “Something we can have pride here at Dos Pueblos. Our field was probably one of the worst fields in Santa Barbara County and now we can look at it and call it one of the best.”
