Strong winds knock down trees and power lines in Cambria

Strong winds caused issues all along the Central Coast on Tuesday.

At around 4 p.m., Cambria Fire Department responded to the intersection of Oroville Avenue and Kay Street for a report of a tree that fell down and blocked off a roadway.

The 80-foot pine fell across Kay Street and crews had to cut the tree into pieces to clear the road.

The tree also knocked down communication and power lines and caused a power outage to nearby homes.

Residents were told to shelter in place while crews from Pacific Gas & Electric responded to fix the downed power lines.
