Santa Barbara falls to Corona del Mar in Holiday Classic Championship

After rolling through the first three games of the Santa Barbara Holiday Classic, the Santa Barbara Dons got a tougher challenge in the tournament championship.

The Dons fought back to nearly erase a double digit second half deficit, but eventually fell 50-37 to Corona del Mar at Santa Barbara High School on Saturday night.

The Sea Kings (13-5) got timely three point shooting on their way to winning the tournament championship.

Santa Barbara (16-2) saw its 11-game winning streak snapped. The Dons had beaten their previous three tournament opponents (North Hollywood, Westlake and Newbury Park) by an average of 26 points per game.

The Dons play their next game on Wednesday at Rio Mesa.
