Health officials confirm Tuberculosis case at Oxnard High School

Health officials in Ventura County have confirmed a case of Tuberculosis at Oxnard High School.

This comes after health officials responded to a TB exposure involving a middle school in the El Rio School District and one at the 24-Hour Fitness at The Collection in June 2018.

There is no evidence that these cases are related.

Officials expect to test students and staff who may have had close contact with the individual identified with TB.

The Ventura County Public Health Department will hold an informational meeting on Monday, Nov. 5, 2018, at 6 p.m., to answer questions from parents, students and staff, and share information about the risk of Tuberculosis exposure.

The meeting will be held at Oxnard High School.
