Creedence Clearwater Revisited entertains longtime fans at Ventura County Fair

Creedence Clearwater Revisited returned to the Ventura County Fair’s grandstand on Friday night.

Stu Cook said they had played the fair a fair amount over the years.

Older fans grew up listening to Creedence Clearwater Revival in the 1960s with songwriter John Fogerty and his brother Tom, Doug Clifford, and Stu Cook.

Drummer Doug “Cosmo” Clifford and Bass Guitar and vocalist Stu Cook are still going strong with CCR.

When some of the newer members called Camarillo and Newbury Park the crowd went wild.

They played hit after hit including “Suzie Q”, “Bad Moon Rising” and an extended version of “I Heard it Through the Grapevine.”

Some of the fans have been seeing them play for decades.

CCR was the final grandstand concert at the 2018 fair.

The area is being used for a rodeo on Saturday and Sunday that will be followed by closing weekend fireworks.
