New sales tax rates to take effect in Ventura, Santa Paula

New sales and use tax rates are set to kick in on April 1 for two Ventura County cities.

Santa Paula and Ventura both will have new sales tax rates when the calendar turns from March to April.

The new rates are a part of user-voted initiatives at the city and county level.

Santa Paula’s new tax rate will be 8.25 percent, a one percent raise from the previous rate. Ventura’s rate raises from 7.25 percent to 7.75 percent.
