Bigger and newer Business Development Center opens in Santa Maria

A bigger and newer Santa Maria Business Development Center is now open for use.

“It brings more jobs, means local jobs, and local commerce for Santa Maria,” says Robert Shipman, from Econcept Marketing Solutions.

It’s a place where he says his business can set up shop and also interact with the local community.

“It’s a marketing platform for small business to shine online so we help small businesses in our community,” he says.

He says with a place like this, he can set up laptops, make appointments and meet with clients.

“It gives small businesses a leg up on the competition it makes it so the small business owner can reach out to the community,” says Shipman.

The center is backed by a larger state-wide group called Make It Your Business. It has now doubled in size since it’s previous location, something organizers say will offer more resources.

“There are private offices available, we have a training room where we can provide onsite training, we have much larger meeting rooms,” says Anne Cremarosa, the Founder and President of Make It Your Business.

“I think one of the real ways that this community can and should grow economically is people supporting local businesses,” says Glenn Morris, the CEO of the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce.

It also gives businesses a chance to work in the same space and interact with one another.

“Sometimes they need access to other people to bounce ideas off of and they can find that here and it’s a great resource,” says Morris.
