Family of Double Shooting Victim Says He Was the Father of Four Children
Santa Maria, Calif – Concerns continue to grow among Santa Maria residents after all of the violence that has been happening in the city.
The Santa Maria Police Department revealed the identity of the two people killed during a double shooting on Monday night. Police say 29-year-old Agustin Jaime Montano-Barajas and 25-year-old Alexis Morales were found dead in a car on S. Elizabeth Street.
The family of Montano-Barajas did not want to go on camera saying they did not feel safe doing so. They did say he was the father of four children and that his usual routine was to go to work and come home directly after.
They say they do not know who could have done this to him.
Safety is also a major concern for residents who live in the community. “You really don’t feel safe and I think above all that police have to be more vigilant so that they can protect us and so we can feel safe,” said Grasiela Vanuelos.
She says she has lived in the city for 15 years and can’t remember a time when violence was at such a high rate.
