Case Detective Agency Facing Class Action Lawsuit

A well-known investigative agency and provider of uniformed security officers in the Central Coast is facing a lawsuit. Santa Barbara-based law firm Anticouni & Associates filed a Class Action lawsuit on behalf of former and current employees at Case Detective Agency.

The complaint alleges that employees were not paid for all hours worked, not paid overtime, and were often paid in cash, which the law firm says deprived them of Case’s obligation to pay into Social Security and Unemployment Disability benefits.

It is further alleged that Case Detective Agency failed to keep proper payroll records and provide proper wage statements, as well as not provide their employees with timely meal periods.

“We project damages will exceed $1 million,” said Bruce Anticouni on behalf of the law firm.
