Errol Flynn’s Old Boat Competes in McNish Classic Yacht Race

Errol Flynn’s boat Cheerio II placed 2nd in its class at the 38th Annual McNish Classic Yacht Race off the Channel Islands Harbor on Saturday.

The late actor’s sailboat is now owned by Dick McNish, 88, who started the race to help keep all-wooden boats racing.

This year 17 boats from Santa Barbara, San Diego and Ventura County and other ports competed.

The winning Yacht Circe won the Strathmore Cup and its captain won his weight in Champagne.

Sailors enjoyed a party at the Pacific Corinthian Yacht Club after the friendly competition.
