Santa Barbara’s Dancing Under the Stars Crowns New Champion

Santa Barbara’s Dancing Under the Stars Competition named it’s new champion. ABC/KEYT Anchor Shirin Rajaee and her partner took home the big win. Rajaee danced the cha-cha, which was good enough for top honors at the event, which benefits the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation.

Rajaee and seven other dancers including Rudy Alvaro, Deborah Bertling, Mary- Margaret Humes, Sebastian Lebeau, Carol Metcalf, Monique Rodriguez, and Jeff Zamora performed for a large audience Sunday night. The event took place at the Fess Parker Double Tree resort and included a 13-piece orchestra.

Rajaee walked away with the highest judges score, 10’s across the board. With a combination of judges and audience votes, she is now the new dancing champion.

The gala included a silent auction to raise funds for the Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation, which helps the families of child cancer patients in Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura Counties.
