Santa Barbara’s Teen Star Singer Is Back On Her Feet

A Goleta teenager is back on her feet after a debilitating illness confined her to a wheelchair for two years.

13-year-old Mary-Grace Langhorne was confined to a wheelchair for two years.

She was diagnosed with Dystonia after a severe reaction to medication. She was in pain and bed-ridden.

Then, 12-years-old, she didn’t let it stop her. She won a local singing competition called Santa Barbara’s Teen Star.

Langhorne continued with physical therapy, but also incorporated her love for singing, dancing and surfing into her routine.

Defying expectations, Langhorne started to walk again two months ago.

She wears high heels to help support the muscles in her feet and ankles that have atrophied.

Her father Edward says Mary Grace got back on her feet her way to the amazement of her doctors.

Soon, Mary-Grace hopes to get rid of her wheel chair forever.

“It depends on how fast my feet are willing to work. I’m going to continue singing and dancing. I’m going to be better very soon.
