Gauchos Lose OT Game to Florida Gulf Coast

Hours after garnering Big West Conference Player of the Week honors for a record ninth time, UCSB senior Alan Williams scored 29 points and pulled down 16 rebounds in an 81-75 overtime loss at Florida Gulf Coast University.

Williams sent the game into overtime with two free throws with 1.2 seconds to play.

But Brett Comer scored six of his team-high 28 points in the extra session to drop UCSB to 0-2 on the year. The Gauchos lost last Friday by 10 at #5 Kansas. Williams had 22 points and 13 rebounds in that loss.

UCSB hosts The Master’s at 4 p.m. on Saturday in its home-opener.
