Storm Brings Down Large Tree Branch in Isla Vista

A large tree branch fell across the road in Isla Vista Friday evening.

Santa Barbara County Fire spokesperson Mike Eliason said the tree was knocked down from the heavy water weight during the rainstorm.

California Highway Patrol responded just after 9:15 p.m. to Embarcadero Del Mar and Trigo roads in Isla Vista.

Santa Barbara County Public Works arrived on scene to cut the tree in pieces for proper removal.

CHP officers are providing traffic control around the tree.
