Two Arrested in Connection to Stabbing in Santa Maria

Two suspects are behind bars after police said they were involved in a stabbing Tuesday night.

According to The Santa Maria Police Department, the incident happened on the 900 block of West Cook Street.

Police said the victim, 27-year-old Angel Valdez, was involved in an argument with the suspects when it escalated into a physical altercation.

Santa Maria PD said 27-year-old Autumn Pommier stabbed Valdez and held the knife to him threatening to stab again.

Ruben Ortiz, 30, then drove them away from the scene.

Officers found them nearby and booked them into county jail.

The victim suffered a non-life-threatening stab wound to his lower body.

Santa Maria police said the investigation is ongoing.
