Arnoldi Celebrates 40 Years with the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Department

For four decades, Lt. Butch Arnoldi has answered the call for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.

Today he was honored by Sheriff Bill Brown, his co-workers and family on his 40th anniversary.

Arnoldi says he plans on working about two more years.

These days, one of the driving forces in his day-to-day work is blending “old school” techniques with modern technology deputies now use to keep the peace.”You still have to go out there and do the work, even though the technology is there you have to go out there and lift those latent prints and interview people,” said Arnoldi. “And the thing you have to do daily is communicate with people.”

Arnoldi is currently serving as the Chief of Police for the City of Goleta, under a contract with the Sheriff’s department.
