Orlando Johnson & Roberto Nelson Will Play Overseas
Two basketball players with Santa Barbara connections are headed to Europe but not for vacation.
UCSB’s all-time leading scorer Orlando Johnson has signed a contract with Laboral Kutxa Baskonia of Spain while former Santa Barbara High School star Roberto Nelson signed earlier this week with Basket Brescia Leonessa of Italy.
Johnson has played a total of 96 games in the NBA with Indiana and Sacramento, averaging 3.2 points per game and 1.7 rebounds.
Nelson led the Pac-12 in scoring last year with over 20 points per game. He played in the NBA Summer League with Charlotte.
