Old Spanish Days Style Mass Celebrated at Santa Barbara Mission
Hundreds of people enjoyed one of the more formal traditions during Old Spanish Days at our historic mission Thursday.
La Misa Del Presidente is a special church service filled with the pomp and circumstance of Spanish lore.
The mission was packed for this morning’s mass with three friars, this year’s spirits, Saint Barbara along with hundreds of local residents and of course, el Presidente Dennis Rickard and the first lady.
Fiesta attire is always encouraged during La Misa. Even the altar was decked out with sombreros and sarapes.
