Airport Travel Tips For Smooth Trips
Thursday night looked like the calm before the holiday storm at the Santa Barbara Airport. Airport workers said the next five days will be among the busiest.
Travelers who have lived through flight cancellations said they try to book flights before the rush. They also bring their presents unwrapped in their carry-on luggage.Security requires packages to be unwrapped.
Another source of advice comes from Travelzoo Senior Editor Gabe Saglie. Saglie said travelers should stay connected by downloading apps for airports, hotels, weather and Transportation Security Administration. He said you’ll get a better seat if you check in 24 hours early.
And travelers will enjoy the trip more if you fend for yourself by packing snacks, entertainment, pillows, toys and medications and patience, in case you get stuck waiting.
If money is an issue, travelers can save by flying on holidays such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve. They can also save by extending their stay after the holiday rush.
