Milpas Community Christmas Tree Lighting Set for Saturday

The Milpas Community Association is gearing up for its fourth annual tree lighting ceremony tomorrow.

Organizers placed the tree at the roundabout on Milpas near the freeway. All the lights are solar-powered which is a first for Santa Barbara holiday displays.

“This is our kickoff for the holidays and we just want the community to have a nice celebration at night,” said Sharon Byrne, the MCA’s executive director. “There is no electricity in the roundabout, so we’re going solar to help power the tree.”

Saturday’s tree lighting is set for 5:30 p.m.
