Kids take Sumo Challenge using robots

Some kids at the Boys and Girls Club in Lompoc took a Sumo Challenge on Tuesday.

The kids didn’t push each other out of the ring, but used robots instead.

Twenty participants in the robotics program wrapped up their eight-week program. The Sumo Challenge was a time to show off what they learned and what they made.

“They’ve done a lot of different robots on their own, and the one’s that are built now are not the only one’s that they’ve built several other things,” said Todd Gee with the Boys & Girls Club.

The teams will try to tip or push out the other robots from the ring.
