Dehydrated hiker rescued on beach trail

Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue responded to a dehydrated hiker at the Gaviota State Beach trail.

A woman hiking in the area called for emergency help just before 5 p.m. Wednesday. Rescue crews found her and determined all she needed was water to rehydrate.

A helicopter did respond to the scene just in case. She was driven out of the trail by California State Parks rangers to the nearby road and treated by American Medical Response.
