Child molester gets 30-year prison sentence
A man already serving a prison sentence in Arizona for child molestation entered a guilty plea on Wednesday to four counts of child molestation in Santa Barbara County.
Terence Paul Stevens,53, sexually molested three separate victims between 1988 and 2008. He was a youth soccer coach in Lompoc during the mid to late 1980s when he molested several of his players. In the 1990s, he moved to San Diego and then to Yuma, Ariz., where he was arrested and convicted for similar crimes.
In 2011, The Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office filed 17 counts against Stevens.
Stevens will begin serving a 30-year prison sentence in California once he serves out his sentence in Arizona.
Stevens will be about 82 years old before he is eligible for parole.

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Terence Paul Stevens entered a guilty plea to four counts of child molestation against three separate victims for offenses that occurred between 1988 and 2008. Stevens received a sentence of 30 years in prison. To date, Stevens has no credits on the 30-year sentence because he is currently serving a sentence for child molest out of Arizona. He will be returned to Arizona to continue serving out his sentence there. Once he completes his Arizona sentence, Stevens will begin serving his 30 years. Terence Paul Stevens will be approximately 82 years old before he becomes eligible for parole.
District Attorney Dudley commends the outstanding investigation conducted by Detective Scott Pierce of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department as well as Senior Deputy District Attorney Ann Bramsen. DA Dudley hopes that Stevens’ guilty plea provides some sense of closure to the victims in this heart-wrenching case.
