The search is on for a suspect in a stabbing. Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s office detectives say the suspect stabbed a 44-year-old Motel 6 resident in Carpinteria.

It happened at the 4200 block of Via Real around 10:15 p.m. Thursday.

The victim was transported to the hospital. The man told investigators he and the suspect used to work together and they had an argument several months before.

Two sheriff K-9 Specialty Units and CHP assisted in the search for the suspect.
