Robles sentenced to life in prison
A Santa Barbara gang member found guilty in the murder of a local surfer will be spending the rest of his life in prison.
Adrian Robles was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison with out the possibility of parole.
Robles slashed 44-year-old Robert Simpson’s throat following a fight at Hendry’s Beach in April 2010.
Not only was Robles found guilty of first-degree murder by a jury in December, but he was also found guilty of it being a gang related crime.
That is why he was given the mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.
