Update: Resident share concerns and coffee with Carpinteria deputies

Many Carpinteria community members shared their concerns over a cup of coffee with Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies today. The program, called “Coffee with a Cop” is a chance to meet in a casual atmosphere.

The event was held at Crushcakes and Caf downtown.

The deputies were joined buy some members of the Santa Barbara Police Department who have been holding similar gatherings for months.

Many residents thanked the deputies for their efforts. Others had specific issues.

Detective Chris Corbett said he heard concerns about inadequate lighting on some foot bridges in town. Fortunately, Councilmember Fred Shaw was on hand and took the information back to City Hall.
