Westlake’s run is over at CIF State Tournament in boys basketball

Grant Lozoya almost single-handedly led Westlake to an upset win at top-seeded Riverside-JW North. The senior scored a game-high 30 points but it wasn’t enough as the Warriors lost 58-50 in the CIF State Division II regional semifinals.

Behind Lozoya Westlake led by 11 points late in the third quarter but the Huskies used their superior size to comeback and end the Warriors historic season at 28-6. Westlake played in a CIF Southern Section Division 2A final and a State Tournament regional semifinal.

JW North advances to play Redondo Union in a regional final.
