Mountain biker rescued

A Sunday afternoon mountain biker was injured on Romero Canyon Trail in Santa Barbara County. The 50-year-old biker was reportedly on the trail alone when he experienced difficulty and summoned authorities for help.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue says the rescue operation took about two hours and though initially included an air lift for transport, authorities opted instead to carry-out the biker after which he was transported to Cottage Hospital. It’s not knownif the mountain biker was local.

Search and Rescue points out that Romero Canyon Trail isa popular but challenging destinationfor bikers as well as runners andrescue calls from that area are not uncommon.
