Art Scholarships Awarded to 18 Local Students

SANTA BARBARA – The Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara awarded art scholarships worth $2,000 to 18 students. The foundation held a reception and exhibition of the students’ art Thursday night at the Ridley-Tree Education Center.

One student, Alana Winick of Santa Barbara High School’s Visual Arts Design Academy, or VADA, told NewsChannel 3 how thrilled she was to receive a scholarship *and* “Best of Show” for one of her creations. The scholarships handed out were based on the quality of student portfolios and judge by a panel of local artists.
