Gina Drake Enters Plea
The ex-wife of a Ventura Police Officer pleaded not guilty to murder charges today.
Gina Drake is accused of murdering her aunt near the Ventura Keys three years ago. Relatives found Wendi Di Rodio stabbed to death in the Pierpont home she shared with her elderly parents in June of 2009.
Police arrested the 45-year-old in May of this year. Drake’s husband filed for divorce after she became a suspect. Di Rodio was a 61-year-old family therapist, author, and a Santa Barbara swing dance instructor.
A possible motive has not been revealed. Drake is free on a million dollars bail. Prosecutors say she is due back in court for a hearing on April 4th.
