He was Gatorade’s National High School Football Player of the Year. More than 10 years later Former St. Bonaventure High School star Lorenzo Booker is on the Chicago Bears. But as we go Under the Helmet, we find out that Booker is not even his son’s favorite player!Lorenzo Booker never lost a game in High School Football leading St. Bonaventure to 3 straight CIF Championships. Two Friday’s ago, Booker was back on the prep sidelines, cheering on his old school. He’s proud that the Seraphs are still a Southern California PowerhouseBooker notes, “They’re doing the same things 10 years later, it’s just a testament to the program, the student athletes, the coaches the principal everybody.”Booker is coming off his best training camp of his career which included this electrifying 105 yard kick off return for a touchdown against Washington. He beat out fierce competition to win a job with the Chicago Bears.”You know I was going to have to do something like I did on the return which is to make 6 guys miss and making everybody stand up to get their attention.”But even that amazing return could not sway one tough critic, his son Kayin.”Even before I had a kid I can’t wait to have a kid and I am going to be his favorite player..no..everytime we play football, he’s got to be Adrian Peterson or Percy Harvin or Devin Hester and then I got to be somebody else but I think it’s funny because no matter what he sees no matter how many touchdowns I score I am just dad to him and that’s the best part.”
