Bicyclist Fights for Life after Car Crash

UPDATE: The Santa Barbara Police Department has identified a woman injured in a bicycle crash on Milpas and Quinientos Street as 41-year old Colleen Bernadette Devine-King of Santa Barbara. The accident happened around 7:30pm on Tuesday. Police say Devine-King is a known transient. She was rushed to Cottage Hospital in critical condition. 21-year old Luis Miguel Torres of Santa Barbara was driving a Dodge Challenger northbound on Milpas when he hit the woman. Investigators now believe Devine-King was illegally riding her bike on the wrong side of the road.Police blocked off the area from Milpas and Quinientos down to Mason street, to investigate. The Collision Reconstruction Team was on-site, gathering evidence, and looking at skid marks to piece together what happened. Investigators say Torres was not injured or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Officials are waiting for toxicology results from Devine-King before they determine the cause of the crash.KEY News Reporter Shirin Rajaee was live on scene and has a full report.
