Arlington Tavern Opens with Farm Fresh Menu

Five friends have teamed up to open the Arlington Tavern restaurant on Victoria Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Two of the owners are former workers at a past restaurant on the site.Owner and Chef Ron True says when it comes to the tavern concept, “we have Cold Spring Tavern of course, but we didn’t have a tavern downtown. The idea of farm fresh has been my inspiration my entire career. It’s where I learned from Zuni’s Caf, from Union Caf in Gramercy everything is sourced from the farm as fresh as possible and that’s essentially what I am trying to do here.”True says he is buying local produce and fresh fish daily for his menu.The restaurant has a large dining area, and a quaint bar design that will offer a lighter menu. Many local wines and beers will be offered.Arlington Tavern is in the theater district not far from the Arlington and Granada Theaters.
