BALTIMORE, Md. - Laura Evans has been posting photos on social media showing the creative ways she turns quarantine dinners into theme nights that are fun for the whole family.

The former KEYT and Washington D.C. news anchor now lives in Maryland where she runs her own media company.

To make the quarantine more fun for her 3 children they create costumes for themed dinners each week.

The Emmy-winning journalist said it's their way to stay safe and sane during months of quarantine.

"One week we did prom night, we did beach theme on Cinco de Mayo, last week we did celebrity night, one week we dressed like each other, we pulled names from a hat, it has been so much fun and kids look forward to it. And the key to this is having the kids take the reigns and they choose what the theme is, so they are really involved in it," said Evans.

Evans has inspired others to give it a try.

"It's been a lot of fun we just let our hair down and let loose and we look forward to it, anyway a little tip on how to have a little fun in quarantine and I hope you're staying safe and sane and we are in this together and we will get through this."
