Francisco Munoz Charged With Secretly Recording Children As They Changed Clothes

SANTA PAULA, Calif. (KEYT) – Francisco Munoz of Santa Paula has been charged after allegedly recording children changing in an office bathroom at the apartment complex where he worked.

On Aug. 24, around 4:45 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of North 8th Street for a report about a man covertly filming children changing clothes in an apartment complex office bathroom after using a nearby pool stated the Santa Paula Police Department.

Detectives quickly identified the suspect as 48-year-old Francisco Munoz, an employee of the apartment complex, who fled the scene before the arrival of police shared the Santa Paula Police Department.

A search was conducted and eventually, the Santa Paula man was arrested later the same afternoon noted the law enforcement ageny.

According to Santa Paula Police, Munoz is alleged to have used a makeshift box with a hole, hid a cell phone inside of the box, and video recorded multiple minors as they changed in the bathroom.

On Aug. 26, Munoz was arraigned in Ventura County Superior Court on the following charges:

• PC 647(j)(3)–Using a Hidden Camera to Secretly Record Someone Who Is Partially or Fully Undressed in a Private Location
• Multiple Counts of PC 647.6(a)(1)–Child Annoying
• Multiple Counts of PC 311.4(c)–Using a Minor for Child Pornography
• PC 311.11(a)(1)–Possession of Child Pornography

Munoz remains in custody added the Santa Paula Police Department.
