SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Since mid-March, Santa Barbara-based Nomad Goods has shifted its supply chain.

The company still makes accessories for electronics, but now also sells and distributes masks and hand sanitizer around the world.

Now Nomad is donating one million masks to non-profits and other organizations in the U.S. who need them the most.

The Nomad team wants local organizations to apply for a donation, or nominate a group in need, through the company's website.

“We’re encouraging non-profits and groups in the community to apply,” said Nomad sales director Sofia Silva. “We’re seeing that there’s a over-influx of [masks] being sold at higher prices, but there’s not as much of a influx of donations. And so we’re seeing a lot of these non-profits need donations.”

Silva says that Nomad has distributed about 10 million masks domestically since March.

Nomad is also matching mask donations that are made to five organizations already identified as needing masks, including United Way, American Red Cross, Glide.org, Meals on Wheels and Santa Barbara-based Direct Relief.
