SANTA MARIA, Calif. – The CDC reports California has a 'very high' level of flu activity. Santa Barbara County Public Health officials said the level is 'pretty high' countywide.

Public health officials said they have seen an uptick in flu cases and other viruses, including COVID-19, since the Thanksgiving holiday.

They expect numbers to increase as we approach Christmas time.

Health officials advise the community to continue to practice personal hygiene, wear a mask if needed, and stay home if they feel sick.
