Fire crews respond to 47-acre vegetation fire off Highway 1 east of Morro Bay Wednesday

MORRO BAY, Calif.– Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo County Fire Departments responded to a 47-acre vegetation fire in the 1400 block of Teresa Road parallel to Highway 1 and east of Morro Bay Wednesday afternoon.

The vegetation fire was fully contained detailed San Luis Obispo County Fire Department at 5:09 p.m. on Wednesday.

UPDATE: #TeresaIC 100% contained. Firefighters will be at scene for the next 20 minutes.

According to the San Luis Obispo County Fire Department, the northbound South Bay Highway 1 off-ramp was temporarily closed while smoke made driving difficult.

According to Morro Bay Fire Department, the vegetation fire had a moderate rate of spread when the initial call of the fire came in around 11:57 a.m.
