Ventura area CHP responded to fatal two-vehicle traffic collision Tuesday
VENTURA COUNTY, Calif. – California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to a fatal traffic incident involving a sedan and a sport utility vehicle on Laguna Rd. and E. Pleasant Valley Rd. on Tuesday.
According to CHP Ventura Area, the driver of the sedan, a 47-year-old Oxnard woman, died at the scene and the sedan's passenger, a 39-year-old Oxnard man, was transported with major injuries.

The driver of the sport utility vehicle declined medical treatment at the scene relay CHP.
Around 4:19 p.m. on Oct. 17, Ventura Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call of a two-vehicle traffic collision and that both vehicles had come to rest in a drainage ditch nearby relay CHP.
According to CHP, arriving first responders discovered the driver of the sedan trapped in the vehicle and they were later declared dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of their next of kin explain CHP.
After an investigation, detail CHP, it was determined that the sedan was attempting to make a left turn from Laguna Road onto Pleasant Valley Road when the crash occurred.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle was located on the scene and CHP personnel determined that the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol relay CHP.
Pleasant Valley Road at Laguna Road was closed for almost four hours in both directions as part of the response efforts detail CHP.
