Chance of rain returns Friday

Temperatures were slightly warmer on Thursday to accompany the sunshine, but conditions will change as we approach the weekend. The chance of rain returns Friday, with scattered showers expected into the evening.

There will be a break Saturday morning, followed by moderate to heavy rain for several hours on Saturday evening. The chance of rain will linger into Sunday and Monday. This system will be weaker than the storm earlier this week.

A High Surf Advisory remains in effect until 10pm on Saturday for the beaches of Santa Barbara County and San Luis Obispo County. A High Surf Advisory will be in effect until 9pm Friday, but will then be upgraded to a High Surf Warning for Ventura County until 10pm Saturday. It is best to avoid the beaches at this time due to dangerous rip currents.

Temperatures will progressively cool down to the low 60s and upper 50s to accompany the rain throughout the weekend.
