City of SLO starts local dining rewards program

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – For the month of January, the City of San Luis Obispo is providing $25 gift cards to anyone that spends more than $100 on food or drink purchases at any SLO business.

Diners and drinkers in the local area need to bring the itemized receipt from their $100 or more outing to the San Luis Obispo Visitor Center at 895 Monterey St. in San Luis Obispo.

The $25 local business gift cards will be available through Jan. 31 or until funds run out.

The Eat Local Bonus program is an attempt to help local businesses during lower spending periods.

“January is typically one of the most challenging months for the restaurant industry, and we're hoping to change that here in SLO. After completing a successful third annual Buy Local Bonus program, the City of San Luis Obispo is proud to provide this direct economic stimulus to local restaurants and eateries," said San Luis Obispo City Manager Derek Johnson.

The President/CEO of the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce, Jim Dantona said, "We’re proud to be partnering with the City yet again to help bolster our vibrant local culinary and beverage industry.
