Cuesta College EMT students donate AEDs to ECHO

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.– Cuesta College EMT students donated two automatic external defibrillators to the El Camino Homeless Organization (ECHO) to provide life-saving equipment at Paso Robles and Atascadero ECHO sites.

The college students partnered with community organizations, friends, and local businesses to make the donation possible. Through class projects funds were raised to purchase AEDs from local SLO business AEDs for Hearts, which provided the equipment at a discounted cost.

Local non-profit Public Safety Development Group facilitated the donation between students and ECHO.

AEDs provide a life-saving service for those experiencing a medical emergency who would otherwise be unable to afford healthcare services. Cuesta College EMTs filled a need at the ECHO shelter allowing trained community members and ECHO staff to assist in a crisis.
