GOLETA, Calif. – Roger Asceves, the longest serving councilmember in the history of Goleta, was honored last night inside the council chambers as he completes his final term.
Councilmember Roger Aceves was first elected to the city's council in 2006 and was last reelected in 2018. Aceves also served as Mayor of Goleta in 2009 and in 2012.

Prior to his city government tenure, Aceves served for over 32 years in law enforcement, beginning as a Santa Barbara County Sherriff's Deputy and retiring as an officer with the City of Santa Barbara Police Department.
Mr. Aceves recently became a first-time grandfather and has been married to his wife Debby for 46 years. If you would like to contact Coucilmember Asceves before his term ends, his email will be available until Dec. 20 at raceves@cityofgoleta.org.
