Robbery Parolee Wanted In Sacramento Arrested In Santa Barbara
A tense takedown late Thursday morning off upper State St. at the corner of De la Vina and Samarkand.
Undercover deputies with the Santa Barbara Co. Sheriff’s Department and Santa Barbara police detectives made what they call a “high risk stop” involving a car out of Sacramento after 11:00 a.m.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kelly Hoover confirmed one of the four people inside the dark sedan was a robbery parolee, wanted on a felony out of Sacramento.
Driver 23-year-old Keyshawn Wright was arrested for a warrant on a felony robbery. The other male passenger, 23-year-old Todd Williams was arrested on a parole hold. Both men are from Sacramento.
Two females passengers in the car were not arrested.
Authorities were tipped off that the parolee was in Santa Barbara County and tracked him down within the city limits.
The roadway was shut down briefly during the arrest of the wanted man, and another parolee in the car who was also taken into custody. The other two passengers were detained and questioned.
