“Tony The Tiger” Voice-Over Announcer Dies

The longtime voice behind “Tony the Tiger” has been silenced.

Lee Marshall lost his battle with Esophageal cancer Saturday.

Marshall’s contract wouldn’t let him divulge his secret identity as the tiger known for saying the Frosted Flakes slogan, “They’re Grrrreat.”

Lee was in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his work behind a microphone.

The Oxnard Shores resident was also a local DJ, a wrestling announcer and Cal Lutheran University instructor.

Marshall said he was the luckiest man alive because of his career.

He was 67 years old.
