Man escapes arrest in Santa Maria

Police are searching for 24-year old Juan Coria Olayo, who got awayafter being arrested Sunday for drug and theft-related charges. Olayo was transported totheSanta MariaPolice Department,but escaped by slipping off his handcuffs when he was unattended.

Police need the public’s help to locate him. He’s described as a Hispanic man, 5’7, 170 lbs with black hair (see picture). If you have any information, contact Santa Maria Police Department, and do not attempt to detain him.
