Dog Set On Fire

Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputies say a dog was deliberately set on fire.Firefighters found one of the Delgado family’s basset hounds on fire in a ravine behind their Mesa Drive home near Camarillo.It happened after three in the morning Saturday.Sheriff’s Deputies and Arson Investigators say the three-year-old dog did not survive.The dog’s owner said his family is devastated but would not comment on the open investigation.Some Camarillo Heights neighbors think a family member is to blame.Investigators say the person who did it will face arson and animal cruelty charges.Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Darren Smith at (805)383-8740Share your comments about this story with us on the KEY News Facebook page.
