The Dalai Lama is returning to Santa Barbara virtually

The Dalai Lama is coming back to the South Coast in a virtual lecture.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The Dalai Lama is coming back to the South Coast in a virtual lecture. Tuesday the University of California Santa Barbara’s Arts and Lectures is hosting his holiness during a free event.

The Dalai Lama was last in Santa Barbara twelve years ago when he also spoke at UCSB. His talk Tuesday is going to be about creating hope and having more compassion for everyone on the planet.

Pico Iyer will moderate the lecture. He said, “Suffering affects all of us. And bring us together and reminds us that we’re interconnected across the world. Somebody sneezed in China and somebody in Santa Barbara suffers the effects or vice versa. So in some ways, it bares out his vision that we’re all absolutely interconnected.”

The virtual event will start at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening. For more information about signing up for the lecture visit UCSB Arts and Lecture's website.
