Friday morning forecast April 23rd

Temperatures Friday are warming slightly with the coast and valleys in the 60s and interior areas in the low 70s.

Onshore flow is weakening and a ridge is building aloft, helping to recover temperatures a little bit. The marine layer will continue, peaking in the overnight hours, but will thin a bit.

There is a beach hazards statement on the Ventura County coastline until Sunday morning. Waves will reach up to 7 feet and rip currents will be strong.

Saturday is continuing with a May Gray feel, but temperatures will continue warming a tad in interior areas. Clouds will hug the coast through the day.

An upper low coming from the Gulf of Alaska will work its way south to us by Sunday. By the afternoon, a chance of rain starts in the northern parts of the region, and rain could start up in southern areas later in the night.

Rain chances increase overnight and linger through Monday. Coasts and valleys could reach up to a quarter of an inch of rainfall and mountain slopes up to a half of an inch.

A ridge will start building again Tuesday and temperatures will dramatically increase to above average by midweek.
